Cancellation and Refund Policy

This Cancellation and Refund Policy explains how Sumbell free trials, paid subscription cancellations and voluntary refunds work.

Privacy PolicyTerms of ServiceCookie PolicyCancellation and Refund Policy

1. About This Policy

This Cancellation and Refund Policy explains how Sumbell free trials, paid subscription cancellations and voluntary refunds work.

Sumbell is operated by:

NEXOBEN LTD
Company number: 17431879
Registered in England and Wales

128 City Road
London
EC1V 2NX
United Kingdom

Email:

contact@sumbell.com

This policy is part of the terms governing paid use of Sumbell.

Nothing in this policy limits consumer rights that apply under applicable law.

2. Free Plan

Sumbell may provide a free plan.

The free plan does not create recurring subscription charges unless you choose to upgrade to a paid plan.

Features and limits of the free plan will be shown on the Pricing page or inside the application.

3. Seven Day Free Trial

Only Pro includes a 7 day free trial for eligible users. Household does not include a free trial.

During the trial, you receive access to Pro features.

Before you start the trial, Sumbell will show:

  • the Pro plan
  • the trial period
  • the price that will apply after the trial
  • whether billing is monthly or yearly
  • that the subscription will continue automatically unless cancelled

Unless you cancel before the trial ends, your Pro subscription will automatically begin after the 7 day trial.

Your payment method may then be charged for the applicable subscription period.

4. Cancelling During the Free Trial

You may cancel your trial at any time before it ends.

If you cancel before the first paid billing period begins:

  • you will not be charged the first subscription payment
  • automatic renewal will be stopped
  • Pro trial access may continue until the trial ends unless otherwise stated

You do not need to contact the provider of any subscription or expense you track inside Sumbell.

Cancelling Sumbell affects only your Sumbell subscription.

5. Paid Subscription Renewal

Paid Sumbell subscriptions may be billed:

  • monthly
  • yearly

Paid plans automatically renew unless cancelled.

Your next renewal date and billing period will be made available through your account or billing information.

Where required by applicable law, Sumbell will provide required renewal information or notices.

6. How to Cancel

You may cancel your Sumbell paid subscription at any time using the available billing or account controls.

If cancellation cannot be completed through your account, contact:

contact@sumbell.com

We aim to make subscription cancellation straightforward.

You do not need to provide a reason for cancelling.

7. What Happens After Cancellation

Unless applicable law or another stated condition provides otherwise:

  • cancellation stops future automatic renewals
  • no new subscription period will begin after the current paid period
  • paid features remain available until the end of the current billing period
  • your Sumbell account can remain open after the paid plan ends
  • your account may move to the available free plan after the paid period ends

Cancelling a Sumbell subscription does not automatically delete your Sumbell account.

8. Voluntary Seven Day Refund Policy

In addition to any statutory rights you may have, Sumbell provides a voluntary 7 day refund period for your first paid Sumbell purchase.

You may request a refund within 7 calendar days after your first paid subscription charge.

This applies to the first paid purchase for the account.

To request a refund, contact:

contact@sumbell.com

Please send the request from the email address associated with your Sumbell account where possible.

9. What the Voluntary Refund Covers

If your eligible refund request is received within 7 calendar days of your first paid charge, we will normally refund the amount paid for that first subscription purchase.

The refund will normally be returned through the original payment method.

Processing times after approval may depend on the payment processor and your bank or card provider.

10. Renewal Payments

Our voluntary 7 day first purchase refund policy does not normally apply to later renewal payments.

Monthly and yearly subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled.

You are responsible for cancelling before a renewal if you do not want the subscription to continue.

However, this does not remove any cancellation or refund rights that apply under consumer law.

Where applicable law gives you a right to cancel or receive a refund following a renewal, that legal right will apply regardless of this voluntary policy.

11. Statutory Consumer Rights

Our voluntary refund policy is additional to your legal rights.

It does not replace, reduce or exclude statutory rights.

Depending on where you live and the circumstances of your purchase, consumer law may provide additional cancellation or refund rights.

For example, consumers purchasing services online in the United Kingdom may have statutory cancellation rights in applicable circumstances.

Where applicable law provides a longer cancellation period, renewal cooling off right, mandatory refund or other consumer protection, Sumbell will respect that legal requirement.

12. Immediate Access to the Service

When you purchase or begin using a paid Sumbell plan, you may receive access to paid functionality immediately.

Where applicable law requires specific consent before a service begins during a statutory cancellation period, the checkout or subscription process may ask you to provide that consent.

Any statutory consequences of requesting immediate access will be explained where required.

13. Refunds Required by Law

We will provide refunds where required by applicable law.

This may apply even where the situation falls outside our voluntary 7 day refund policy.

Nothing in this policy is intended to exclude rights that cannot legally be excluded.

14. Duplicate or Incorrect Charges

If you believe you have been:

  • charged twice
  • charged the wrong amount
  • charged after a valid cancellation
  • charged because of a technical billing error

contact us as soon as possible at:

contact@sumbell.com

We will review the billing record and correct confirmed errors where appropriate.

15. Failed Payments

If a subscription payment fails:

  • the payment processor may retry the payment
  • paid access may remain temporarily available
  • paid access may later be restricted
  • the account may return to the free plan

We will not intentionally charge amounts outside the subscription terms you agreed to.

16. Changing Plans

If Sumbell allows upgrades or downgrades between paid plans, the billing effect will be explained before you confirm the change.

Depending on the billing configuration, changes may:

  • take effect immediately
  • take effect at the next billing date
  • create a proportional charge or credit

You will be shown relevant billing information before confirming a paid change where applicable.

17. Account Deletion

Deleting your Sumbell account and cancelling your paid subscription are separate actions.

If you delete your account while a paid subscription is active, you should also ensure the subscription is cancelled where necessary.

Account deletion does not automatically create a refund right.

Any refund will be determined according to:

  • this policy
  • the circumstances of the payment
  • applicable consumer law

18. External Subscriptions Tracked in Sumbell

This policy applies only to payments made for Sumbell itself.

It does not apply to subscriptions or recurring expenses you track inside Sumbell.

For example, if you track:

  • Netflix
  • Spotify
  • insurance
  • a gym membership
  • software
  • rent
  • internet

Sumbell cannot refund payments made to those providers.

Refunds or cancellations for external services must be requested directly from the relevant provider.

19. Abuse of Refunds or Trials

We may refuse voluntary refunds or free trial access where there is clear evidence of:

  • fraud
  • repeated trial abuse
  • repeated creation of accounts to obtain promotional access
  • payment abuse
  • serious violation of our Terms of Service

This does not affect statutory consumer rights.

20. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as our plans, billing system or legal requirements change.

The latest version will be published on the Sumbell website with its updated date.

Changes will not remove statutory rights.
